Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Designer’s responsibilities are to design electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods.

· Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research. programs; applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.

· Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.

· Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements, researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials, and soliciting observations from operators.

· Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.

· Ensures system and product quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and system capabilities, and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.

· Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

· Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.

· Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

· Maintains system and product database by writing computer programs and entering data.

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

· Applies all necessary safety measures in design products.

· Works with the Engineering Supervisor on customer design reviews and scope of work.

· Creates final documentation packages.

· Interacts with customers and Program Managers.

· Interacts with the Controls and Assembly departments.

· Follows IATGlobal design and build specifications.

· Assists the Jr. Designers as needed.

· Assists the Engineering Supervisor with detail checking on larger projects.

· Other Duties as Assigned.

Other Requirements:

· Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ESA and IATGlobal’s handbook standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

· Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience

· Background in mechanical design/ automation

· Experience with SolidWorks CAD software preferred.

· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ESA and IATGlobal’s company handbook.

· Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.

· Must be available to work weekends if required.
