Reporting to theDirector of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist will play a keyrole in engaging and supporting managers and employees with a wide range of HRinitiatives, operational processes/procedures, specifically employee relationsand Health & Safety. The candidate must possess excellent communication,negotiation, conflict resolution, and time-management skills. The chosencandidate will serve as a first point of contact for the Human ResourceDepartment and work with the policies and procedures established by theMushkegowuk Council.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-Secondary education in HumanResources, plus three (3) years of work-related experience in employeerelations, Health & Safety, and recruitment. 
  • CHRP designation an asset or workingtowards.
  • Practical experience applying CanadaLabour Code, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Act, and OccupationalHealth & Safety Act.
  • Practical experience on Health &Safety Committee. 
  • Knowledge of conflict resolutionpractices. 
  • Knowledge of WSIB and HR best practices. 
  • Practical experience of Human Resource ManagementSystem (HRMS) software. 
  • Exercise discretion, judgement, and highdegree of confidentiality in handling information.
  • Must demonstrate a high level ofinitiative, self-direction and ability to work independently. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and iCloudapplications or willing to learn. 
  • G Driver’s License
