Reporting directly to the Director of Client Communications, the Proposal Specialist will play a pivotal role in various communications and business development initiatives. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented writer with a robust understanding of business development principles and the professional services landscape.
Salary: $90,000.
Location: Downtown Toronto.
Working arrangement: Hybrid.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with team members and lawyers to draft, edit, and review proposals, pitches, and other business development materials, incorporating existing or new content.
• Ensure adherence to all RFP deadlines.
• Provide guidance and assistance to lawyers on fee proposals, demonstrating a sound knowledge of alternative fee arrangements.
• Maintain RFP-related content and tracking tools, including the firm's representative matters database.
• Assist in submissions to directories and ranking organizations.
• Develop, edit, and oversee the production of marketing and communications materials, such as brochures, invitations, lawyer biographies, or website content.
• Update the firm's website as necessary.
• Draft and proofread internal communications materials.
• Address communication inquiries from lawyers promptly.
• Undertake miscellaneous communication, business development, and administrative tasks, as assigned.
Requirements:
• 3+ years’ experience in a marketing, communications, or business development with substantial writing responsibilities, preferably within a professional services firm.
• Degree or Diploma in Communications, Marketing, Business, Public Relations, Journalism or related.
• Demonstrate the ability to manage time pressure situations and juggle multiple demands effectively.
• Exhibit superior writing, proofreading, editing, and communication skills.
• Display meticulous attention to detail and a collaborative approach in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain professionalism and tact when dealing with senior personnel.
• Demonstrate self-motivation and the capacity to manage projects independently.
• Possess strong organizational skills, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently.
• Embrace a customer service mindset.
• Proficient in MS365.
• Understanding of website content management systems is a plus.
• Ability to problem-solve, exercise good judgment, and foster strong interpersonal relationships.
