Job Opportunity - Senior Manager, HR Governance & Administration:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Senior Manager, HR Governance & Administration will play a lead role in the development and implementation of our HR Governance and Administration strategy, providing a sustainable framework to ensure compliance with all HR regulatory and legal obligations. This includes policy review and development, process development, and documentation, supported by change, communication, and education programs developed in collaboration with our Organizational Effectiveness and Talent teams.

The Senior Manager will lead the development and maintenance of policies and procedures relevant to Irving Oil’s HR Governance Program to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. They will also conduct regular internal reviews to assess compliance to procedures.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree in a legal or related field and has 7+ years of progressive HR experience. They should possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive strategic change, with specialization in employment law or a strong HR operational background for both Canadian and U.S legislation.

Additionally, they should have familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resources procedures and regulations. The ideal candidate should have excellent people management skills, with the ability to attract, retain, and develop exceptional talent.

They should demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and follow-up skills with the ability to prioritize. Exceptional relationship building, customer service, communication skills, and problem-solving skills are essential. The incumbent should collaborate well in a team environment and leverage a flexible work style.
