Reports to: Executive Director, Nursing & Health Professions
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Status: Permanent Full-Time

The Director, Scholarship & Innovation will advance scholarship, evidence-based practices, and transformational change initiatives across the UHN enterprise. Leads capacity building at the individual, unit, and organizational levels. Builds relevant and timely clinical, policy and health systems scholarship, evaluation, research and innovation across UHN clinical programs and services in collaboration with change leaders and innovators. Leads best practices in implementation, knowledge translation, program evaluation and improvement science with internal and external partners, builds a program of research that advances retention of health human resources, elevates scholarship across nursing and the health professions, and provides evidence-based leadership to address current complex challenges within the health care system. This role will advance scholarship in the workforce, addressing health system's needs & CAP (Collaborative for Academic Practice) priorities aligned with the Nursing Strategic Plan and needs of health professionals to optimally function in healthy and productive work environments. Building out a network of scholars and elevating the impact of health professions contributions to knowledge generation, application and excellence as a world class academic health sciences centre.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a PhD with relevant research experience
  • Regulated Health Professional in good standing with their professional college
  • Minimum 5 years practical and related experience
  • Eligible for appointment at UHN Research Institute
