Working Arrangement
HybridJob Description
Are you looking for unlimited opportunities to develop and succeed? Are you looking to work on initiatives that make a difference in a flexible and encouraging environment, while helping customers achieve their dreams and aspirations?
What if I told you we’re working towards modern tools and processes including Agile, Human Centered Design, Microsoft Power Platforms, and Jira? That we are keen to innovate and we’re growing?
At Manulife Bank, we believe banking products are an integral part of every Canadian's financial plan. As one of Canada's youngest banks, we are growing at an outstanding rate and need people with the skills, energy, and drive to maintain our position. We offer competitive pay and an encouraging work environment with flexible hours.
What will I be doing?
As a Business Analyst, you will join forces with other smart people (like Product Owners, fellow Business Analysts, Business SMEs) on our Operations Support Squad with accountability for the annual tax process and debit card management. You will have a keen focus on client notifications and developing consistent experiences that provide value to our customers. As a Business Analyst on this Squad, you deeply understand our customers and will work with extended teams to identify process improvements and efficiencies.
In addition, your role will also have a focus on process mapping, analyzing business needs, creating business requirements and stories, submitting changes requiring Developer work to our Bank Delivery Org, and recommending innovative low-tech solutions to help make the solution a reality. Then you start on the next challenge and do it again If you thrive on this type of work - then we need your people-smarts and keen mind as a Business Analyst on our Operational Support Squad.
Your responsibilities would include:
- Performing all tasks for Annual Bank Tax Program
- Handling the monthly Debit Card reissuance process for customers
- Conducting current state analysis and documenting business processes
- Using your analytical skills and critical thinking to ask questions, understand our business drivers and needs, and bring order and precision to scope and requirements on Operational initiatives
- Using a variety of requirements modelling techniques - such as user stories, process mapping, acceptance criteria, and business rules – to convey information
- Capitalizing on your ability to build and foster positive, effective relationships to strengthen your partnership with key stakeholders
- Using your strong communication skills to lead/collaborate with working groups and present information to all levels within the company
- Preparing our business partners for changes that are introduced and articulating what it will mean for them specifically
- Using your problem-solving skills and good judgement to make business decisions that drive results and solve customer problems
- Influencing your teammates with your good humor and passion for your role
- Delivering documented solution requirements so that everyone has a clear and consistent understanding of the proposed solution
Am I right for the job?
- You put the customer at the centre of everything you do.
- The analysis profession isn’t new to you. You’ve spent one (1) to three (3) years growing your knowledge, skills, and experience in this line of work and you have a clear track record of success in supporting or leading small or medium sized initiatives.
- You have an understanding of Banking and Canadian Tax Legislation
- You have exposure to the following technologies:
- Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI)
- MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, SharePoint, MS Bookings, Visio)
- You serve as a thought leader for low-tech/no-tech solutions to drive value for the business
- You are curious, and a strategic thinker with the ability to think conceptually beyond day-to-day business realities and to effectively consider downstream impacts.
- You successfully manage competing priorities like a champion.
- You maintain your composure and best-self during challenging times or challenging interactions.
- You’re a capable and innovative problem-solver using good judgement to make business decisions that drive results and solve customer problems.
- You know how to build successful relationships with your coworkers and mesh naturally in an environment with geographically and culturally diverse cross-functional teams.
- You are accountable – you make it happen, you own it, and you find solutions.
So, what’s next?
If you're interested in the idea of joining our team don't let this complete list of items deter you. Send us a resume and a cover letter telling us about yourself and why you want to work with us. We are looking for our next great team member – and we want to hear from you
