The team:

Jobber’s Business Strategy team is a force multiplier and catalyst for medium to long term strategic planning & execution. The team serves as a partner and sounding board to the Senior Leadership team and works on critical strategic initiatives and high impact opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, high impact group with significant cross functional exposure.

The role:

As an early member of this team, the Strategy and Operations Associate will play an impactful role in translating high level strategy into more granular detail, identifying key opportunities and challenges, facilitating the translation of these into key projects and initiatives across functional and cross-functional teams.

As a Strategy and Operations Associate, you will:

  • Facilitate the creation of the strategic blueprint for the business (3-5 year horizon)
  • Create audience appropriate and high impact communications about the strategy to various stakeholders (Board, leadership team, whole company)
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop key projects, business cases, project plans and success criteria to achieve the goals of the strategy
  • Develop and coordinate reporting, monitoring and evaluation of the projects on a regular cadence to enable an operating rhythm
  • Work on deep dives to evaluate new insights/opportunities and present a well informed opinion to stakeholders. Examples:
    • Competitive/industry benchmarking
    • External environment signals
    • New product or feature ideas
    • Build/buy/partner decisions
    • Stress testing our current priorities and recommending changes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, internal strategy or strategic finance/analytics
  • Strong knowledge of business and financial concepts
  • Exceptional communication skills - impactful, visual, and succinct presentations and memos, ability to simplify and explain complex concepts to various audiences, generate excitement, engagement, and buy in
  • Strong problem-solving skills - translate data into insights and insights into strategic recommendations/ projects
  • Strong organizational & project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once
  • Quick learner; willing to dive in and get their hands dirty
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive in identifying opportunities and solutions, and areas to add value
  • Bonus points for SQL/data analysis and vertical software as a service experience.
