Do you have strong accounting and technical skills that you can use to support our Joint Venture accounting team? In this exciting role, you will be the primary banking analyst for cash forecasting and cash calls for Joint Venture accounting.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. University degree, preferably Business, Finance or Accounting related, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting or financial analysis.
  2. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, knowledge of SAP, and Analysis for Office (AO).
  3. A continuous improvement and growth mindset with the drive to proactively seek greater knowledge, understanding of systems & processes, and champion improvements.
  4. Excellent time management and organizational skills to effectively handle a diverse workload.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the primary banking analyst for Joint Venture cash forecasting and cash call accounting, communicating with key stakeholders including Tax & Treasury, Business Reps, and JV Owner reps.
  2. Perform day-to-day accounting, account reconciliations, and ad hoc analysis as needed.
  3. Complete the month-end activities including accruals, reclasses & allocation entries.
  4. Manage account receivables for the Joint Venture.
  5. Support Insurance and Property Tax inquiries.
  6. Cultivate and foster relationships across Suncor to achieve the accounting team’s objectives.
  7. Design & implement continuous improvement initiatives including delegation, process improvement, and data/technology-driven efficiencies.
  8. Partner and communicate effectively with all stakeholders and key business contacts.

Location and other Key Details:

This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.

Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.

Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based on years of experience and scope of work.
