About this position

The Accounting Clerk will be primarily assisting with full cycle accounting for the National Music Centre and the King Eddy Live Music Limited. The successful candidate will have strong full-cycle accounting skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and a passion for the not-for-profit/music sector.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, client follow-up and payment processing.
  • Processing monthly accounts payables and payments by cheques/EFT’s.
  • Reconciliation of vendor statements.
  • Process and record weekly cash deposits, wire transfers and e-transfers.
  • Monthly credit card reconciliations.
  • Data entry and processing reports.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Record journal entries for weekly cash deposits, wire transfers and e-transfer payments.
  • Maintain hard copy files where required.
  • Reconcile and record petty cash.
  • Assist the finance team with year-end audit duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with the implementation and documentation of policies and procedures.
Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess:

  • Accounting diploma or certificate preferred.
  • 3 years of proven accounting clerk experience, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices.
  • Excellent computer skills, experience with Quickbooks, Microsoft Office and Teams. Ticketing software experience an asset.
  • Strong aptitude for working in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated.
  • Accounting experience in the restaurant and live music industry is an asset.
