CCIS’s Community Development & Integration Services (CDIS) Division is looking for an Assistant Senior Coordinator Outreach. The Assistant Senior Coordinator facilitates the integration of seniors by providing educational, social, and recreational activities for immigrant seniors, individuals, and families and by partnering and networking with service providers, seniors’ associations, and seniors’ centers. Will work at connecting seniors within the surrounding community to CCIS Senior Programming Services, to local senior community groups, and planning and executing various outreach events for seniors. Enhance collaboration and engage emerging senior groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between our organization, senior citizens, and neighborhood partners.
  • Play a key role in developing and implementing outreach initiatives to connect with seniors in the community, raise awareness about our programs and services, and ensure that we are meeting the diverse needs of older adults.
  • Develop and implement creative outreach strategies to connect with older adults in diverse settings (e.g., senior centers, community events, faith-based organizations).
  • Promote seniors’ program through community outreach and marketing through outreach tools such as social media, flyers, and meetings and attend events within and outside the organization to reach a broad audience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners (e.g., social service agencies, healthcare providers, faith-based organizations) to ensure a coordinated system for seniors
  • Identify and address gaps in services for seniors through collaboration with community partners
  • Develop and participate in collaborative programs and events that benefit seniors.
  • Provide information and referrals to seniors about our services and other relevant community resources.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify the specific needs and challenges seniors face.
  • Advocate for the needs of seniors within the organization and with community partners.
  • Provide One–on–one support for seniors’ safety, wellness, and benefits.
  • Case coordination, documentation, reporting and evaluation
  • Event and Program planning - educational, social and recreational activities for immigrant seniors, individuals and families, including events as required for the program delivery
  • Works with Program staff and Senior Manager to develop programs and events to introduce and integrate seniors into the community.
  • Helping newcomer seniors access resources in the community related to health, transportation, social programs, housing, and finances.
  • Connecting immigrant seniors to other CCIS programs and ethnic seniors’ groups.
  • Assist in organizing multicultural activities for seniors.
  • Assist in facilitating workshops
  • Maintain records and prepare reports of participants’ evaluations
  • Perform administrative tasks as may be required

Qualifications:

  • Degree in education, Social Sciences, Community Development, Volunteer recruitment and management
  • Knowledge of Settlement and integration processes, Counselling and Facilitation skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of seniors’ issue, needs, and the role and primary concerns of older adults in the local community
  • Strong leadership skills that inspire and motivate others
  • Provides excellent client service and communication
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy while being part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to set goals, establish priorities, implement new ideas, and manage change
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues within CCIS and members of the public
  • Public speaking to small and large groups
  • Group facilitation, mediation, conflict resolution and skills in dealing with challenging
  • Good organization, communication, and reporting skills
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and organize work and records.
  • Being fluent in English and other additional languages is an asset.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Current valid driver’s license and access to vehicle
  • Must have a valid Criminal Record Check report

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00-$22.00 per hour
