The Department of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine (Faculty), University of Ottawa (uOttawa) and The Ottawa Hospital (TOH/Hospital) is looking for a visionary leader with excellence in academic and clinical leadership to be its next Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases.
Responsibilities:
The Division Head is accountable to the Chair/Head of the Department of Medicine in fulfilling the mission, vision and goals of the Department, the Hospital and the Faculty, in particular as they relate to the Division. The Division Head holds a joint appointment as the Chair of the Division (academics) and the Head of the Division (clinical services). The Division of Infectious Diseases is an academically intensive division with 16 FTAs and 10 PTAs. Members are recognized internationally for their contributions to medical research and education and for providing exceptional patient care in specialized subspecialty clinics.
The Division Head and the administrative lead work in partnership with shared accountability to
ensure TOH s vision, mission, and goals are being met. The dyad is responsible for strategic
planning, overall performance, engagement, quality, operations, budget, capital, and service

would be preferred.
Additional Information:
The successful candidate will be part of one of the largest academic Infectious Diseases divisions in Canada and will join a dynamic and productive group of 25+ physicians who participate in clinical, educational and research activities. Clinical services offered by the Division include HIV, viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, immune deficiency, general infectious diseases, outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy (OPAT), and tropical medicine.
