Loblaw is looking for a Director of ESG Integration and Reporting to help deliver priority ESG initiatives across the company’s various divisions and businesses with a specialized focus on ESG disclosures. This role will report into the Vice President, ESG Integration and Reporting, and offers the right individual the opportunity as an accounting professional to assist the Company in maintaining a leading role in the emerging area of ESG Reporting.

Key Responsibilities /Job Duties:
  • Participate in the Company’s ESG Steering Committee as the disclosure lead.
  • Support the implementation on International Sustainability Standards for ESG disclosure
  • Work with business leads on understanding reporting requirements and metrics.
  • Work with Risk Advisory and business leads to develop reporting procedures and controls, including documentation and approval requirements, around ESG metrics
  • Support the preparation of quarterly internal management ESG reporting.
  • Review quarterly and annual submissions of ESG metrics from all business units.
  • Plan and prepare the quarterly and annual ESG results
  • Liaise with various stakeholders across the Company to ensure timely consistent ESG reporting that supports our consolidated ESG reporting.
  • Provide analysis and reporting to senior management; and
  • Special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Demonstrate a passion for contributing to Loblaw’s purpose – helping Canadians Live Life Well – and the company’s commitments to fight climate change and advance social equity.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Minimum of 8 years related external reporting and/or assurance work experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting practices - particularly related to disclosures, policies, controls and systems
  • Results oriented – consistently delivering on time and driving for results
  • Enthusiastic team player with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced changing work environment
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, quality driven and detail oriented
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to leverage resources (people, processes, departments, tools) to complete objectives effectively and efficiently
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with individuals within the team and in other departments and build collaborative working relationships
  • Demonstrate professionalism and poise in working with and presenting to business leads
  • Advanced Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
