As a Corporate Accountant, your role is to assist in producing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for Irving Oil. You will be responsible for Employee Services and Treasury Accounting.

Your Responsibilities:
- Prepare complex monthly journal entries and reconciliations, performing investigation of outstanding and reconciling items.
- Review monthly recurring journal entries and reconciliations prepared by junior team members.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including quarterly financial statement notes and annual pension plan financial statements.
- Lead the tax provision support process for Employee Services Accounting.
- Review audit working papers for external annual audits, including leading the pension plan audit.
- Work closely with Treasury, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Employee Services, HR, and other groups.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial analyses.
- Assist junior team members with their development.
Professional Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
- Strong continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong analytical thinking skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience processing and recording complex financial transactions.
- Familiarity with IFRS would be considered an asset.
Your Experience:
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
- Professional designation CPA or enrolled in the CPA program is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting.
