THE OPPORTUNITY

The Project Coordinator is the primary point-person responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications. To achieve these important goals, the Project Coordinator will define project requirements and scope, acquire project resources, and supervise the efforts of project team members. Efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, clear communication of expectations to stakeholders, and upward reporting to senior management are critical tasks that must be performed throughout each project’s lifecycle. The Project Coordinator must ensure smooth and constant communication between the Project, Reinforcing Detailer, Production, and Shipping. The Project Coordinator will ensure timely accurate detailing, schedules are adhered to and maintain all documentation required throughout the lifecycle of the project.

POSITION FUNCTIONS

  • Full coordination between site, detailing, production and shipping on multiple projects
  • Review all contract documents, scope of work and latest set of drawings and addendums
  • Compare construction drawings and estimate drawings for any changes
  • Develop in conjunction with detailing department and maintain the shop drawing schedule if required
  • Review shop drawings/detail sheets for general conformance and construction sequencing requirements
  • Review of changes to contract and ensure that extras and credits are processed and submitted in a timely manner
  • Attend job site meetings as required for the project
  • Download and process all information from the detailing department and send to fabrication
  • Develop and maintain all documentation required throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Visits sites as required to ensure quality control and schedule
  • Assist with progress billing, substantial completion and project closeout
  • Track the progress and quality of work being performed by placers
  • Creating and issuing of project RFI’s, clarifications and constructability concerns
  • Review field inspection reports from Consultants throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Produce monthly project status reports for review
  • The above functions to be prepared on multiple projects

PRIOR WORK & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Education in architecture/engineering an asset
  • 2+ years of direct work experience in project coordination and/or rebar labour experience.
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project coordination methods.
  • Solid knowledge of reinforcing steel, concrete structures, and concrete construction
