Job purpose:

Responsible for Forecasting, Sales and Data Reporting, Commercial Analytics that will support independent Strategic Insights/Recommendations for the assigned brands with an aim to grow the Canadian Pharma presence across Canada by increasing market share and sales in the Vaccines or General Medicine portfolio.

Working in a complex environment to manage the collaboration with other areas of the business to pull together a broad aspect of insights from Digital Analytics, Medical, Brand, Market Research, Sales as well as all external parties.

Key Responsibilities:Primary Activities:
  • Accountable for delivering on 3 pillars of business intelligence i.e. Forecasting, Sales and Data Reporting and Commercial Analytics & Insights that will support independent Strategic Insights/Recommendations for the assigned brands.
Forecasting:
  • Accountable to rigorously oversee the documentation of forecast assumptions collected from across the enterprise and ensure integrity of assumptions across forecasting deliverables.
  • Accountable for maintaining Patient, TRx and NBRx in existing forecast models using primary and secondary data sources.
  • Accountable for high quality, accurate and timely completion of forecasting deliverables for the assigned brands e.g.
    • Annual Plan Forecasts
    • Annual Long Range and Strategic Plan Forecasts
    • Monthly Latest Estimates (as required)
    • Monthly Demand (CCC) Forecast by SKU for manufacturing planning.
Sales & Data Reporting:
  • Proactively monitor, assess needs, and manage the development of standard reports to support:
    • Key performance indicators for your designated brands.
    • Executive leadership decision making meetings (including Launch & Commercial Excellence and Performance Review).
    • Financial and commercial summary monthly report.
    • Weekly performance indicators.
    • Global data requests of the Canadian Enterprise.
    • Lead change requests in Power BI (PBI) or new reports development with our core team (knowledge center, IT, PBI developers) for your designated brands.
Commercial Analytics & Strategic Insights:
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the business on critical business assumptions, strategy, positioning and market definition.
  • Understand forecast key sales drivers, risks and opportunities. Keep abreast of pharmaceutical industry, therapeutic area, and internal GSK developments, which could impact on forecast drivers.
  • Responsible for the timely delivery of comprehensive, accurate, high quality commercial analytics to identify opportunities and provide the foundational support of business decisions and performance monitoring.
  • Manage and synthesize secondary market data (i.e. Rx/$ data, multichannel measures, competitive intelligence, market scenario development, profiling, market segmentation, etc.) to identify and assess opportunities and threats for assigned brands.
  • Responsible for the development and integration of LOC multi-channel analytic competencies through global partnerships and local leadership for the purpose of developing performance reports and business insights.
  • Lead the generation of ad-hoc commercial analysis requests including, but not limited to:
    • Opportunity and risk assessments.
    • Competitive intelligence.
    • Insights Generation from existing or new dataset.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in French and English (written/spoken).
  • University degree in Business or Science.
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in areas such as: forecasting, marketing research, sales / marketing analysis, sales, marketing, finance, or other analytical function preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficient understanding of current and future pharmaceutical market drivers, competitive environment, and treatment algorithms across a range of disease areas.
  • Firm understanding of the unique pharmaceutical market, customer, patient and health care system in Canada.
  • Knowledge of IQVIA databases, products and services.
  • Proficient in use of forecasting and model building software.
  • Proficient in identifying, applying and adapting analogs, benchmarks and order of entry models.
  • In-house consultant in therapeutic/customer, analytical/statistical aspects of forecasting.
  • Highly agile learner with a solution-based mindset.
  • Ability to synthesize large and complex amounts data from various sources and to effectively present major themes to Senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Self-starter who recognizes opportunities to add value and takes initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interactions with high-profile stakeholders in a matrix environment.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • A robust business acumen.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced University degrees are desirable (Preferred Master or PH.D level Degree like MBA, PH.D., M. Biotech, etc.).
  • Advanced understanding of Pharma product strategies and organizational dynamics.
  • Demonstrated strong ability to work effectively independently and in a cross functional team environment.
  • High proficiency in the MS Office suite of tools.
  • Extensive experience with demonstrated knowledge and understanding within the following areas: Brand Strategy, New Product Introduction, Marketing Communication, Promotions, Media Planning and Market Research experience required.
