Job Description
  • Customer Collaboration:Work closely with FAEs and key customers (Tier1 and OEMs) to analyze technical issues and requests for automotive use cases, ensuring our system solutions exceed customer needs and meet performance requirements.
  • Team Leadership:Lead the application engineering team to profile, analyze, and optimize system performance for automotive cockpit and gateway systems on R-Car platforms, including Linux, QNX, and Android environments.
  • Innovation and Benchmarking:Develop and benchmark new system use-cases on R-Car platforms by collaborating with multiple hardware and software teams.
  • Performance Analysis:Analyze performance KPIs for cockpit and gateway system use-cases, such as digital cockpits, rear-seat entertainment, and connected gateways.
  • Problem Solving:Collaborate with marketing, system architecture, field sales/FAE, and SW & HW design teams to identify and resolve performance issues, leading in-depth debugging sessions.
  • Proof of Concept Development:Work with partners, global teams, and customers to develop state-of-the-art proof-of-concept projects.
  • Field Team Support:Provide support to field teams to generate opportunities and facilitate design-ins.
  • Strategic Support:Assist senior leadership in driving improvements for automotive customers.

Qualifications
  • Experience:10+ years of industry experience in automotive embedded cockpit and gateway systems application engineering.
  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and Python, with extensive experience in debugging techniques.
  • Leadership:Strong ownership and leadership skills, capable of managing diverse global teams.
  • Embedded Systems:Mastery of complex automotive embedded systems architecture, including multiple OSs (Linux, QNX, and Android) in a virtualized environment, real-time OS (RTOS), functional safety standards (ISO26262), and system-on-chip (SoC) with heterogeneous compute architecture.
  • Platform Expertise:Experience with embedded platforms, including low-level firmware, kernel, and user-space components, as well as ARMs, GPUs, video accelerators, networks, and specialized hardware accelerators in embedded SoC systems.
  • Problem-Solving:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to meet customer expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement:Commitment to continual improvement in all aspects of work, including policies and methodologies.
  • Strategic Collaboration:Ability to collaborate with senior leadership to develop team objectives aligned with broader company strategy.
  • Communication:Excellent command of verbal and written English, with strong interpersonal communication skills.
