Job Description

AdvertSLR is looking for an Environmental Project Manager to join our dynamic and experienced team of contaminated sites specialists in BC. SLR offers:

We are SLR Consulting (Canada), a 550+ team of advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals across 18 office locations in Canada. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of advisory and over 30 technical environmental and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability, we are Making Sustainability Happen.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Management of contaminated sites projects such as site investigations, monitoring and sampling programs, and remediation programs, to ensure successful project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client satisfaction
  2. Coordination and supervision of field staff and subcontractors
  3. Engagement of experienced senior team members, including Project Directors, Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals, and technical specialists to develop work plans and execute projects
  4. Analysis and interpretation of environmental data and preparation of technical reports for senior review and submission to clients and regulators
  5. Liaison and relationship building with clients and other project stakeholders to ensure excellent service delivery
  6. Active participation in proposals and other business development opportunities to build SLR’s client base and revenue stream
  7. Provision of technical leadership through mentoring of staff during project delivery and for other aspects such as Health and Safety, training, team building and other, as required
  8. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to integrate findings and interpretations with various scientific, planning, and engineering disciplines
  9. Actioning difficult project challenges with curiosity and positivity

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of experience in the environmental consulting industry
  2. Strong technical background in environmental site assessment and remediation, waste discharge permitting and compliance, and/or construction environmental management. Specialization in other environmental disciplines is helpful and can supplement your core experiences
  3. Working knowledge of provincial (BC CSR) and federal (CCME) environmental regulations and guidelines
  4. Undergraduate or Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or geosciences preferred
  5. Professional status or eligibility for professional status with a professional organization (, , , , preferred)
  6. Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required for travel to job sites/clients
