The Corporate Controller plays a pivotal role in the financial leadership of Saskarc Group, steering the financial reporting, budget management, and compliance activities. This position demands strategic financial oversight across multiple business units, ensuring financial practices align with company goals and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize all financial management activities including accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes and regulations.
  • Develop and monitor critical financial performance metrics, and provide actionable insights to drive business decisions and performance improvements.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of statutory reports.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
  • Drive the budgeting process, engaging with department heads to ensure realistic and forward-looking budget planning.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CFO, participating in key decisions as a member of the executive team.
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and asset management based on liquidity needs and investment opportunities.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting team.
  • Ensure timely and effective financial and management reporting at all levels.
  • Facilitate audits and proper filing of tax returns.
  • Lead initiatives to improve systems and processes to support scalable and efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
  • 7-10 years of financial management experience in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing finance, accounting, and operational teams.
  • Expertise in ERP systems, financial software, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
