We are currently looking for an HR Specialist to join our Corporate HR team on an 18-month contract term. Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards, and collaborating with HR colleagues and other operational stakeholders, this broad, high profile HR Specialist role will be focused on advancing Total Rewards team initiatives and projects through research, process development, and system enhancements to drive forward HR best practices. Key elements of this role include:
- Researching and recommending HR enhancements to advance the employee experience of Emera employees. This work will advance our goal to provide highly valued HR programs.
- Managing HR projects through their full lifecycle. From researching ideas through stakeholder collaboration, costing, approvals, communication, implementation and change management.
- Working with HR colleagues on projects assisting with peer review calculations and governance.
- Supporting the communication and research of Total Rewards and HR programs.
- Partnering with external partners and service providers to monitor any service changes, contract renewals or reviews, effectively communicating necessary information to senior leadership.
- Working with communications colleagues to ensure the employee communication plan is effectively developed and rolled out.
- Perform additional tasks to support the administration of programs as required.
These skills will make you successful:
- A bachelor’s degree or human resources designation combined with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Research and analytical skills relating to the employee experience.
- Proven stakeholder management experience – in this role you will collaborate with and manage multiple external and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Keen attention to detail and proven problem-solving skills with a customer service focus.
- Ability to work with digital technology and effectively utilize technology to drive change and departmental enhancements.
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong relationship building capacity to ensure a positive work environment promoting change, development and psychological safety for the team.
