Our Fintech client is seeking a Controller to manage and enhance there financial and accounting operations in Mississauga, Ontario. This role demands a proactive leader who can ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, uphold strong internal controls, and contribute to the strategic growth of the company. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in accounting within dynamic environments such as fintech, payments or fast-growing businesses.Responsibilities:- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger management, payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end closing activities.- Prepare and deliver precise financial statements in compliance with applicable standards and company policies.- Monitor cash flow, perform reconciliations, and manage intercompany transactions to ensure seamless operations.- Collaborate with department leaders to develop and refine budgeting and forecasting processes.- Analyze financial performance against budgets and provide actionable insights to enhance cost efficiency.- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.- Coordinate audit processes and support tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.- Partner with other teams to align financial strategies with broader organizational goals and evaluate new business opportunities.- Mentor and guide the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.- Drive improvements in financial systems, documentation, and automation processes to optimize workflow.CPA designation or equivalent - Extensive experience in accounting and financial management ideally coming from fintech, payments, or high-growth sectors.- Proficiency in accounting software systems, payroll platforms, and financial reporting tools.- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes.- Expertise in internal controls, audit coordination, and tax compliance.- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.- Familiarity with CRM systems and financial tracking within operational frameworks.- Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
