Job Title: Embedded Design Verification Engineer/Specialist

Job Location: Markham ON

Payrate: $85k-95k per annum (Dependent on Experience)

Job Description:

· Conduct Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-Loop (SIL) system testing utilizing tools like CANoe, vTestStudio, CANalyzer, LabVIEW, Python, and Shell scripting

· Collaborate with software/firmware developers to identify testing opportunities in applications and methodologies

· Develop software test scripts using Python, Shell Scripting, C, or other commonly used programming languages

· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to replicate their testing environments and conduct HIL and SIL testing

· Analyze C source code and requirements to create software for automating testing of embedded products

· Implement test software to control laboratory equipment such as temperature chambers and oscilloscopes using scripting languages, C, or LabVIEW for black box and functional testing

· Demonstrate comfort in working within power electronics development environments

· Engage in determining test methodology, strategy, plan development, and test setups

· Generate, update, release, and document test reports systematically at each milestone

· Conduct C software code analysis and various testing types (white box, black box, functional, non-functional) for embedded engineering products

· Collaborate within a team environment using Scrum/Agile methodologies, including continuous integration and deployment

· Actively participate in and provide feedback during requirement discussions, software architecture, design, and code review meetings

· Will be reporting to Embedded Design Engineer Team Lead

Skills and Software:

· Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, I2C, and SPI is required.

· Proficiency in Diagnostic Testing including UDS, J1939, and CANOE Diva CDD based testing

· Experience in Python scripting and C programming languages is essential, along with expertise in testing tools like Vector's CANoe, VTSystem, vTestStudio, CAPL scripting, VectorCast, and LabView

· Skills in customer interactions, requirement analysis, test automation, test case writing, bug tracking, and test strategy development are expected

· Previous experience with Confluence, Jira, DOORS, and Git

Qualifications:

· Electronics Engineering Degree. Engineer = PEO Licensed / Designer = Degree or equivalent work experience

· Candidates should possess over 5 years of experience in validating and testing safety-critical embedded products.

· They should have familiarity with analyzing C source code, engaging in code reviews, and offering feedback adhering to MSRA C guidelines.

· A solid grasp of microcontroller architecture, interrupts/exceptions, error handling, compilers, bare-metal software, C data types, pointers, and safety-critical development procedures is essential.
