Through culturally grounded programming, BLC supports Black youth facing employment barriers by providing skills training, mentorship, and access to meaningful work opportunities.Position OverviewThe Workforce Readiness & Career Pathways Coordinator plays a key role in supporting youth as they transition from training into employment. This position is responsible for delivering employment readiness supports, coordinating quality employment opportunities (QEOs), building employer relationships, and ensuring youth are supported throughout their work placements. The Coordinator will work closely with participants, employers, and internal staff to ensure strong employment outcomes and positive workplace experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver workforce readiness programming, including job search support, resume development, interview preparation, and workplace professionalismCoordinate and monitor paid Quality Employment Opportunities (QEOs) for youth participantsBuild and maintain relationships with employer partners across multiple sectorsMatch youth to appropriate work placements based on skills, interests, and readinessConduct regular employer and youth check-ins, site visits, and progress reviewsSupport youth in navigating workplace challenges and career decision-makingCollaborate with program staff to track attendance, participation, and outcomesMaintain accurate documentation and contribute to program reporting requirementsSupport youth in identifying long-term career pathways, education options, or continued employmentQualificationsExperience in employment services, workforce development, career coaching, or youth programmingStrong understanding of barriers faced by Black, racialized, newcomer, or underrepresented youthExperience working with employers or coordinating work placements is an assetExcellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with trauma-informed, culturally responsive, or anti-oppressive practices is an assetWhy Join BLCThis role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of Black youth by supporting their journey into meaningful employment.
