Our client, a leading innovator in office furniture manufacturing, is undergoing a significant expansion and seeks a talented and passionate Manufacturing Engineer to join their metal group and report directly to the Director of Engineering.


You'll be a key player in their growth, leading the charge in Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts. This includes spearheading the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma methodologies to streamline processes and guarantee the quality of every desk, chair, and filing cabinet produced.


In this critical role, you will:

  • Leverage your in-depth metalworking knowledge (tooling, welding, presses, etc.) to develop and refine manufacturing processes, leading the team in achieving new capacity targets for their office furniture lines.
  • Conduct insightful workflow analyses to optimize production layout and equipment utilization, ensuring they reach their full potential.
  • Champion product and process excellence by designing testing methodologies, establishing rigorous standards, and ensuring efficient execution.
  • Translate data into actionable insights through comprehensive reports and utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) for effective process management.
  • Demonstrate a strong background in AutoCAD for enhanced process visualization of furniture components.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, working independently and collaboratively with a team of engineers and operators.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or a related field.
  • 2-10 years of experience in a metal manufacturing setting.
  • Proven ability to streamline processes, guarantee quality control, and lead successful improvement initiatives through Lean and 6 Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience transitioning processes from batch to one-piece flow for smoother furniture production.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and collaborative abilities.
  • Ability to take instruction and work independently with minimal supervision.
