Conavi Medical's minimally invasive technologies include the innovative Novasight Hybrid System that enables simultaneous imaging of coronary arteries with both intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT).

We are currently looking for a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to lead in sustaining the daily manufacturing engineering operations necessary for the efficient production of Conavi's medical devices. In this position, you will:

  • Develop, maintain, and share a strong technical understanding of the capital equipment (Acquisition and Display Module-ADM + the Patient Interface Module-PIM) product design and manufacturing assembly including electrical, mechanical, and optical assemblies
  • Determine and widely communicate the manufacturing engineering team's tasks based on inputs such as corporate objectives, shipment pipelines, production schedules, team and management meetings.
  • Provide design for manufacturing / assembly (DFM / DFA) input into upcoming design changes in alignment with Conavi's priorities and timelines
  • Review and approve work executed by the manufacturing engineering team including work instructions, purchasing specifications, inspection documents, root cause investigations, and nonconformance reports
  • Facilitate the expedited resolution of any roadblocks thereby allowing continuous production
  • Develop test protocols including using established industry sample size and acceptance criteria to assess changes to production processes
  • Identify manufacturing challenges or opportunities for improvement and collaborate with others across the organization including manufacturing engineering, production, quality to develop and implement solutions that are within Conavi's current capabilities and will lead to consistent product yields
  • Lead the manufacturing engineering team responsible for supporting the production of the capital equipment including their recruitment, learning + development, and evaluation in conjunction with the manufacturing engineering leadership group
  • Promote and participate in health & safety initiatives and compliance within the team and across the company

You possess the following qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering
  • 7-10 years engineering supervision experience in a relevant field, preferably medical manufacturing
  • Previous experience with or training in lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, six sigma, SMED)
  • Significant experience working in manufacturing engineering ideally within the medical device industry
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO 13485 and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP)
  • Key competencies include collaboration, innovation, talent building, strategic, results-driven, and problem-solving
