This position applies technical knowledge and expertise in the development and implementation of new and improved manufacturing processes, procedures and equipment. Ensures that the design specifications and procurement of manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures etc. meet company requirements and objectives. Promote and support LEAN culture, methods and activities.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Plan, co-ordinate, lead, and participate in various multi-disciplined teams in addressing and fulfilling company objectives, associated with stamping dies, the manufacturing process, productivity, volume outputs, scrap/rework, quality, safety, and delivery commitments
  2. Maintain current with the overall field of Manufacturing Engineering, new technology, and processes, stamping dies (progressive) and attending training courses as needed
  3. In liaison with the Program Manager, Sales Coordinator, Product Engineer, Purchasing complete all RFQ's on a timely basis while meeting the customer's requirements
  4. Define specification and the statement of work, procurement of various quotations for approval, develop, maintain and execute the implementation plan for new equipment and new tooling
  5. Champion continuous improvement program's area of responsibility
  6. Develop and maintain documentation for:
    • EFMEA, PFMEA, PFC
    • Job Element Sheets (JES)
    • Rework
    • Change-over procedure and instructions
    • Manufacturing Engineering Open Issues
    • New program monitoring requirements, as defined by the Engineering Manager
    • Equipment capacity
  7. Analyze existing production methods, Time studies, Operator issues
  8. Source and develop outside vendors and resources that are capable in performing work to company specifications
  9. Take a leadership role in the development and implementation of 8D's corrective actions (C.A.R.'s)
  10. Coordinate the execution of internal PPAP projects
  11. Works independently and interdependently within various interdepartmental teams
  12. Ensure manufacturing processes comply with pertinent health and safety legislation, practices and procedures
  13. Plan, coordinate and develop prototype builds and budgets to meet program timetables
  14. Plan and lead the launch of new programs, new equipment and retro fits
  15. Work directly with in-house toolroom and machine integrators and manage timelines and progress reports
  16. Responsible for equipment being provided by O.E.M, to adhere to company equipment specifications
  17. Plan and lead for new gauge and check fixtures for new and existing programs
  18. Adhering to all the ISO/TS 16949 policies and procedures

The Manufacturing Engineer also possesses a reporting relationship in the form of direct liaison with Sales Coordinator, Product Engineer, Manufacturing, Production Design and Quality Assurance to fulfill the various objectives of the organization

Knowledge and Education

Degree/ Diploma in either Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience

Work Experience

Minimum 2 years industrial experience, preferably in either Tool and Die making, metal fabrication, and/or assembly process

Skills and Competencies

Computer skills in Auto Cad, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project

Work Environment

Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
