Location This position is located at the Whitby/Oshawa Depot at 825 Conlin Road, Whitby, Ontario.     Fleet Mechanic Under the direction of the Fleet Supervisor, the Mechanic will be responsible for the inspection and repair of fleet vehicles and equipment.The duties include: Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul of various types of fleet vehicles and equipmentPerform preventative maintenance on fleet equipmentInitiate repair requisitions for parts and suppliesCreate and maintain equipment service recordsWork shift as required Applicants must have: A Grade 12 diplomaCurrent Ontario Government Certificates of Qualifications for a 310S and 310TSeveral years of experience in hydraulics and the repair and maintenance of 'Works Type' equipmentKnowledge of Ministry of Transportation, Highway Traffic Act, and respective guidelines set out in the Commercial Vehicle Operators Registration (CVOR) and the National Safety CodeExcellent communication skills, effective customer service, time management and organizational skillsStrong problem solving and diagnostic skillsInspection, maintenance and repair experience of insulated aerial devices and material handling cranes would be considered an asset.A valid Ontario Class 'G' Drivers Licence A valid Ontario Class 'D' Drivers Licence with 'Z' endorsement is an asset  Fleet Mechanic Hourly Rates - Start Rate: $48.36     - Job Rate: $49.06 Conditions of Employment Proof of education, qualifications and any other job bona fide requirements will be required prior to start date. A current Driver’s Abstract will also be required.
