This senior field role requires extensive construction experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple crews, subcontractors, and complex construction activities while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect and supervise all field construction activities and personnelManage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocationOversee multiple construction crews, subcontractors, and Field CoordinatorsMake critical field decisions and resolve construction issuesEnsure project completion within scope, schedule, and budget parametersServe as primary field contact for clients and internal stakeholdersLead client meetings, progress reviews, and project communicationsManage change orders, field modifications, and contract variationsCoordinate with other trades and general contractors on multi-trade projectsResolve disputes and maintain positive client relationshipsImplement and enforce comprehensive safety programs and OSHA complianceConduct safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigationsEnsure quality control standards and specifications are metCoordinate inspections with third-party testing agencies and building officialsMaintain safety records and implement corrective actionsPlan and sequence construction activities for optimal efficiencyCoordinate material deliveries, equipment deployment, and logisticsOversee crane operations, rigging, and heavy equipment activitiesMonitor progress and productivity, implementing improvements as neededManage field documentation, reports, and project recordsQualificationsDegree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferredTrade school certification or apprenticeship completion a plusMinimum 5 years of construction field experienceMinimum 3-5 years in a supervisory or lead roleDemonstrated experience managing construction projects from start to completionExperience with commercial, industrial, or residential construction projectsProficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction drawingsStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codesExperience with construction management software and scheduling toolsUnderstanding of safety regulationsKnowledge of quality control procedures and industry standardsValid driver's license with clean driving recordWorking at Heights trainingFirst Aid/CPR certification preferredLocation, Hours of Work & Working ConditionsLocation: NewfoundlandHours of Work: Monday to Friday 7:00am to 5:00pmWhat We OfferCompetitive salary and group benefits package starting from day 1Group RRSP program with 100% employer matchEmployee discountsCompany events & teambuilding activitiesOngoing learning & development opportunities to help build the career you wantAwards for top performers and employee tenureA unique opportunity to build, grow and leave your impact on a multi-billion-dollar industryDynamic, informal and collaborative work environmentSteelcon is an equal opportunity employer and encourages all qualified candidates to apply.
