Senior Property Underwriter

Senior Property Underwriter Aon is seeking a Senior Property Underwriting – Linx Underwriting, based in Toronto. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. What the day will look like Assess and evaluate complex risks, while analyzing requests for new business quotes, renewals and endorsements. Determine appropriate pricing based on financial and competitive analysis and thoroughly document the thought process of risk assessment. Complete underwriting referrals as required. Negotiate and bind terms, conditions and premium for new and renewal accounts within individual assigned portfolio and authority level. Review and analyze claims and policy wordings. Develop and maintain broker relationships. Effectively manage multiple transactions, leveraging system functionalities to appropriately document processing of transactions and file management. Create an environment within the team that encourages inclusion and openness to ensure the plan is delivered. Participate in self-development activities to improve or develop knowledge of underwriting or business-related subjects. Perform other related duties as assigned. How this opportunity is different We write a diverse book of business covering a wide range of clients including but not limited to: real estate, retail, manufacturing, wholesale, forestry, public entities and Indigenous services. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a good understanding of portfolio management, excellent listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both brokers and our insurance partners to drive an aligned strategy to profitably grow our business. Skills and experience that will lead to success Commercial Insurance knowledge with at least seven years of Property underwriting experience. College Diploma/University degree or equivalent experience. Strong analytical, mathematical, decision making and negotiating skills. Independent thinker and self-starter. Excellent communication. Organizational and time-management skills. Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Committed team player.
