Senior Property Underwriter

Senior Property Underwriter (Linx Underwriting) – Toronto, Canada Aon is seeking a Senior Property Underwriter based in Toronto. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and this role is not eligible for sponsorship. What The Day Will Look Like Assess and evaluate complex risks while analyzing requests for new business quotes, renewals, and endorsements. Determine appropriate pricing based on financial and competitive analysis and thoroughly document the risk‑assessment thought process. Complete underwriting referrals as required. Negotiate and bind terms, conditions, and premium for new and renewal accounts within an individual assigned portfolio and authority level. Review and analyze claims and policy wordings. Develop and maintain broker relationships. Effectively manage multiple transactions, leveraging system functionalities to appropriately process and document transactions and file management. Create an inclusive team environment that encourages openness to ensure plans are delivered. Participate in self‑development activities to improve or develop knowledge of underwriting or business‑related subjects. Perform other related duties as assigned. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of portfolio management, excellent listening skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with brokers and insurance partners to drive a strategy that profitably grows our business. Skills and Experience That Will Lead To Success Commercial insurance knowledge with at least seven years of property underwriting experience. College diploma, university degree, or equivalent experience. Strong analytical, mathematical, decision‑making, and negotiating skills. Independent thinker and self‑starter. Excellent communication skills. Organizational and time‑management skills. Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Committed team player.
