The
Service Coordinator
will oversee the day-to-day operations of a maintenance department and the supervision of a team responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of fleet. Ensure all repairs and/or maintenance to equipment is performed in accordance with Company safety and compliance standards, and with all federal/state regulations.
*Key Responsibilities:*Oversee the daily planning and scheduling of all repair work to optimize productivity. Follow up on repairs being made, perform repairs as needed and appraise performance of shop personnel.Supervise, coach, train, evaluate employee performance or behavior; provide input into hiring, disciplinary action, terminations, compensation, and promotion decisionsConduct daily shop huddles and fleet walksPerform inspections of outside repairs to ensure all work was properly completed in accordance with Company’s safety and compliance procedures and federal/state regulations.Plan and schedule repairs in MIR planning and procure all parts for successful plan.Analyze the quality and effectiveness of the work performedOversee repair diagnostics on more complex mattersConduct road test on equipment as necessaryAssist with inventory control system to ensure necessary equipment and part levels are maintained.Review and approve expenses that are within approval level; refer larger expenses or major repairs to DirectorMaintain knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic and electrical systems to perform advanced preventive and repair maintenance functions on heavy equipment and vehicles used by Company, both on site and on the roadManage related administrative matters for team, including payroll, employee records, records of all preventive and corrective maintenance performed, recording of all information into Company maintenance softwareMaintain open communication with other departments and leadership to ensure fluid and effective operationsEnsure the cleanliness of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programsPerform other job responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:High School diploma or GEDValid Driver’s LicenseValid Certificate of Qualification (310T) or Red Seal (preferred)Three (3) or more years of heavy diesel truck maintenance experience (preferred)One (1) or more years of lead technician or supervisory experience (preferred)Microsoft Office experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :Ability to supervise, coach, counsel, discipline, and train employeesExcellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsStrong work ethic, demonstrating integrity, trust, and maintain confidentialityAbility to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, team environmentAbility to understand and follow oral and written instructionsAbility to prioritize workload and meet time sensitive deadlinesKnowledge of all tools required to perform repairs and maintenance on vehiclesFull set of hand tools required.Work utilizing personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, safety-toed boot, utility gloves, reflective vest, hearing and eye protection, hard hat, etc.Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds as needed and maintain steady work pace
