Role: Training Strategist Length: 12 Month ContractLocation: Calgary/Hybrid (3 Days On-Site, 2 Days Remote)Rate: $50-53/hour About the OpportunityOur Inclusion, Talent and Training team is seeking a Training Strategist to join our Training Centre of Expertise on a contract basis. This role will play a key part in designing and implementing scalable, sustainable training solutions that drive business value. You will collaborate across multiple business units and functions to ensure training strategies align with organizational goals and deliver measurable impact.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure a consistent and effective training experience for employees by partnering with internal teams, external vendors, LMS specialists, governance analysts, and other training strategists.Conduct in-depth training needs assessments and translate business requirements into actionable training solutions.Validate and streamline training needs to align with broader business initiatives, leveraging existing resources where possible.Drive efficient training solutions through adherence to standards, including buy/build decisions and redirecting non-training needs.Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, making adjustments as needed.Support business units in creating and maintaining training profiles aligned with defined needs.Manage multiple internal and external training development projects, ensuring timely, on-budget delivery.Coordinate and facilitate meetings with developers and LMS teams to track project progress.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field.5+ years’ experience in a learning role (designer, consultant, partner, or strategist) within a corporate environment.Proven expertise in training needs assessment and adult learning principles.3+ years’ experience in the Energy/Utility industry or similar technical environment.Experience with learning systems and technologies such as SuccessFactors or Workday Learning is preferredStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence decisions.Proven track record in problem-solving, project management, and implementing learning solutions.Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Adaptable and flexible in response to shifting priorities.
