The Ideal candidate for this role is a natural storyteller who lives and breathes social media, is a highly motivated and creative individual, and will work closely with the Content Creator, and other members of the marketing team to drive SUNPAN’s brand across social media.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & OBJECTIVES


Social Media

  • Clearly Communicate and drive SUNPAN as a brand and product narratives on Multiple Platforms.
  • Ownership of social strategy and media planning.
  • Pitch, storyboard, present and champion ideas and concepts to senior team members and assist in clearly defining the production requirements for each project.
  • Build Content calendar and implement social media plan.
  • Focus on collaborating with the video content creator to produce engaging video content for socials.
  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing and Communications Manager to manage the influencer program and contribute to earned media mentions
  • Engage with the design community online and identify SUNPAN products featured on other channels, curate third-party image submissions for social media and the catalogue
  • Develop a content plan for promoted posts and stories that will garner brand awareness and social engagement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including graphic designers, copywriters, and content creators, and external partners on a variety of campaigns.
  • Research and provide recommendations based on standard methodologies as well as industry and consumer trends, to support the ongoing development of organic social strategy and playbook.
  • Working over certain weekends and evenings during key trade shows and other events is essential for this role


Media Relations

  • Grow and maintain relationships with journalists and key stakeholders to ensure increased coverage for SUNPAN in trade and mainstream media outlets while maintaining SUNPAN as a brand
  • Respond to journalist enquiries in a timely manner and facilitate interviews with internal team leaders
  • Draft, revise, and proofread press releases for significant company announcements, and coordinate their distribution to relevant trade publications.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure timely submissions for product feature requests
  • Compile news coverage about SUNPAN and share with internal stakeholders


Other:

  • Take ownership of monthly company newsletter, and work with the human resources team and the CEO’s office to deliver internal company news.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned


KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


  • Education and Certifications: Post-secondary degree in Communications, Public Relations, Creative Writing, Business, or Journalism; certification in social media marketing, with Meta digital marketing and community management certifications being an asset.
  • Experience and Skills: 2+ years of experience in social media marketing or content creation, including proficiency in Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and marketing; experience in creating high-quality brand video content and a demonstrated track record of audience growth and engagement.
  • Technical Proficiency: Fluency with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, experience with digital analytics, and familiarity with social media scheduling tools; familiarity with Asana and experience in influencer marketing and paid social ads are additional assets.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong communication skills with exemplary writing and content creation abilities, a passion for storytelling and content creation.
