The Welfare Avenue organization is a volunteer‑run nonprofit operating in Montreal and Toronto, expanding to Ottawa, Calgary, and Vancouver. We serve low‑income and unhoused citizens with free meal programs, community integration, mental health support, and food insecurity initiatives. Position Summary This is a volunteer‑only role with no salary component. The City Director of the Toronto branch will act as public spokesperson, host staff meetings, coordinate with staff on tasks, work with the Regional and Executive Directors on program implementation and staff recruitment, facilitate free food events, and maintain internal documents. Responsibilities Act as public spokesperson for the Welfare Avenue Toronto branch Host staff meetings and coordinate required tasks with staff Collaborate with the Regional Director and Executive Director on program implementation Assist in staff and volunteer recruitment with the Regional Director Facilitate free food events in Toronto Maintain organization of all internal documents with the Administrative Assistant Qualifications Experience volunteering or working for non‑profits Experience managing teams and completing projects on time Knowledge of homelessness, mental health, and food insecurity issues Strong time‑management, team organization, and operations skills Currently enrolled in or holding a degree in Urban Studies, Social Work, Political Science, Public Administration, or related fields Willingness to assist the Regional Director with free food events in person Commitment to Welfare Avenue’s values and mission Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level Employment Type Volunteer Job Function Business Development and Sales Industry: Non‑profit Organizations #J-18808-Ljbffr
