We are seeking an energetic, client-focused, detail-oriented Law Clerk with Assistant duties. The firm offers a collegial and flexible work environment.

The role will provide support in a number of areas, including:

  • Assisting lawyers in drafting litigation documents, proofreading, and transcribing dictation;
  • Inputting and tracking key dates for client files in accordance with firm policies and LSUC procedures;
  • Serving and filing court documents;
  • Booking court dates
  • Proactively managing 2 (two) Lawyers calendar and timelines;
  • Maintaining current knowledge of court protocols and practice directions;
  • Working closely with Accounting Manager for opening and closing of client files;
  • Performing administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and providing reception duties;
  • Assisting lawyers and following their directions in a timely and professional manner;
  • Sending and collecting mail, banking, scanning, photocopying and filing
  • Maintain positive client relations and communication;
  • Coordinating with Accounting Manager to respond to inquiries on billing/budgets.
  • Meeting annual law clerk target hours
  • Maintaining and auditing of client file organizations in adherence with LSUC bylaws

Required experience and skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal assistant/clerk;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in litigation;
  • Strong understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools
  • Completion of Law Clerk program or equivalent degree or diploma

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid Work Model: This position is primarily remote, with billable hours recorded. Occasional visits to the office may be required.
  • Flexibility to tend to urgent matters outside regular working hours.
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment with training.

Position Details:

  • Full-time or Part-time position.
  • Estimated weekly hours: 22.5-37.5 hours per week (3-5 days per week)
  • Benefits for full-time.
  • Bonus pay for exceeding targets
