Must haves:

Experience provisioning and supporting VMware ESXi 7.0 in an environment of 20 or more hosts.

Experience using vCenter Server using HA and DRS.

Industry experience working as a server support analyst supporting Windows 2019 or 2022.

Experience automating tasks within Windows and vCenter utilizing PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible or other.

Experience deploying updates using a centralized patch management tool (Ivanti, SCCM, WSUS, LCM or other).

Experience using HP OneView to manage C7000 blade enclosures and Synergy Frames.

Experience using VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM)

Experience with HP server hardware: C7000 blade enclosures, Synergy Frames, and their related compute modules.

Experience with Service Now or alternative ticket management system for Change Management, Incident Management and Service Requests.

Hands on experience working in a complex environment requiring prioritization of tasks and deliverables.

Hands on experience working in a multi-team IT support environment providing services to other teams and clients.

Industry experience working as a server support analyst supporting Azure Stack HCI

Experience managing resource capacities in a VMware ESXi environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.

Ability to learn quickly, problem solve, troubleshoot, work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to manage stress and conflict.

The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, management and vendors.

Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and/or during block time/change windows outside of normal Government of Alberta business hours (8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Alberta time, Monday to Friday).

Yes/No - Proposed resource must work from within Edmonton or Calgary, due to datacenter proximity.

Able to participate in a 7/24/365 on call rotation.

Mandatory Skills:

Proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following:

• University graduation in Computing Science or a related discipline and 2-yr Server Analyst experience;

OR

• 2-yr diploma in Computing Science or a related discipline and 4-yr Server Analyst experience;

OR

• 1-yr certificate in Computing Science or a related discipline and 5-yr Server Analyst experience;

OR

• 7-yr Server Analyst experience
