By exploring our past, we appreciate where we came from. This enriches our lives today and gives us insight for times ahead. As a member of the Experience Development Team, you’ll implement specific initiatives and priorities identified in Tourism Nova Scotia’s plan and advise a range of tourism partners, from businesses to communities and organizations, with a consumer-focussed and strategic approach.

This position develops and enhances strategic partnerships and alliances among private sector, community, and other tourism stakeholders, as well as interests at the provincial, regional, and national levels.

This position reports to the Manager, Experience Development

Aid communities, industry and other levels of government in the preparation and implementation of tourism strategic plans. Initiate and coordinate strategic product research on existing and emerging tourism product areas.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you have a bachelor’s degree preferably in Tourism, Public Relations or Business, with two (2) years related work experience in tourism development. You have strong written and verbal communication skills, including the essential ability to develop and deliver professional presentations and program materials. You demonstrate strong project management skills, strategic orientation, creativity, and persuasiveness through individual initiative by developing and leading new projects. You’re a team player with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills, demonstrating sound judgement and discretion. You can effectively manage meetings, handle difficult situations and represent Tourism Nova Scotia at various meetings.

You are also experienced in using various computer software applications including (but not limited to) Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet.

While not required, it is considered an asset if you possess:
