Casino Housekeeping Attendant

Position Summary:
The Casino Housekeeping Attendant cleans and maintains the complex in accordance with departmental policies and procedures and New Brunswick Lotteries and Gaming Corporation (NBLGC) terms and conditions. Assist in maintaining good public relations with patrons and co-workers. Adhere to safety and security standards of the Complex while complying with applicable pre-determined internal control procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to the EVS Supervisor
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment; performs cleaning duties as assigned in the Casino and public lobby areas
- Comply with safety procedures including use of required safety equipment and identify unsafe practices or conditions to the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Maintain all areas in compliance with departmental policies and procedures, NBLGC and applicable internal controls
- Interact with patrons in a courteous and friendly manner, and provide information as needed
- Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer service and respect to all patrons, employees and casino personnel
- Maintain general awareness of gaming operation at all times and comply with security policies and procedures in order to secure company assets
- Additional or different responsibilities or duties, which are consistent with the position, may be assigned at the discretion of the department
- All other duties as assigned
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), regulations, and internal health and safety policies and procedures
- To help create a healthy work environment by not condoning, participating in or reporting, as you become aware, any harassment, discrimination, gossiping or unfair treatment of anyone
- Ensure proper hygiene, grooming and uniform requirements at all times; arrive to work in a clean uniform
- Report any issuing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger someone.
Education and Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Minimum 1 year housekeeping/janitorial experience
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check
Work Environment Considerations
- Standing or walking for long periods of time, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, cleaning, some exposure to heat and cold, some exposure to smoke, some exposure to verbal abuse, non-traditional work hours
