FUNCTION & RESPONSABILITIES

The Maintenance Foreman is responsible for the maintenance of the all NHB buildings in Aupaluk. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Coordinator, the foreman must plan and coordinate the work of the maintenance staff to ensure that the corrective, preventive and building health check (BSI) maintenance program is applied to NHB housing units and to ensure that these assets are maintained in a safe and reasonable manner. More specifically, the employee has the following functions; Reporting to the Maintenance coordinator, the Maintenance Foreman will ensure that all operations are conducted in a respectful and responsible way, ensuring that all decisions and actions comply with the relevant policies and procedures.

The Foreman is responsible for the “day to day” repair and maintenance of NHB buildings. He/She must supervise and lead maintenance staff (up to 10) in an effective manner and ensure the level of morale is maintained. He/She must also respond to concerns and complaints of tenants in a positive and courteous manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Northern Maintenance diploma or pertinent experience in replacement of diplom Two (2) years of experience at least 2 maintenance’s fields: carpentry, electricity, heating or plumber

REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work in two of the three languages of the region (Inuktitut, French or English) Valid driver’s license required or the obligation to take a driver’s course when one is offered

SALARY / BENEFITS

NHB offers a competitive salary, northern benefits and interesting working conditions. The starting salary is $29.21  and could be more based on the evaluation of experiences related.
