Introduction

The Department of Labour and Immigration is seeking highly motivated individuals to fill multiple Immigration Program Officer (PM2) positions within the MPNP Skilled Worker branch under the Immigration division. The successful candidates will be responsible for program delivery/administration in the branch to achieve the division objectives.

Conditions of Employment: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Must be willing and able to travel throughout Canada and internationally Qualifications: Essential: Post-secondary education in Commerce, Business Administration or the Social Sciences or an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience. Experience working with the Canadian immigration systems. Experience undertaking research, analysis, and assessment of policies and/or programs, verifying information and making recommendations based on policy, program criteria, goals and/or objectives. Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills. Experience interpreting, explaining and applying policies, procedures, statutes, and/or regulations to a variety of interest groups. Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex issues to a variety of audiences. Excellent written communication skills for preparing detailed analytical or assessment reports. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders. Strong organizational and time management skills, including managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. Strong political acumen with the ability to manage confidential and sensitive material and situations in an appropriate manner. Desired: Ability to speak and write in French. Duties: Reporting to the Manager of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Skilled Worker Operations, the incumbent’s primary role is the assessment of the immigration application using the defined policy and procedures to determine the demonstrated ability to make significant and long-term contributions to the Manitoba economy.
