We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Professional to join our team at BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and their families, providing support and care in accordance with established care plans.
- Provide personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, and assisting with oral hygiene and toileting needs.
- Perform nursing care functions as applicable, including ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Respond to emergencies and provide assistance as needed.
- Monitor patient progress and report any significant observations or concerns to the Registered Nurse or designate.
- Utilize mechanical aides to transport patients and provide assistance with positioning and lifting.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Manage supplies and maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
- Grade 10 or equivalent education.
- Graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant or Care Attendant program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Commitment to developing knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments related to Indigenous rights and reconciliation.
