About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Picture Finishing Assistant to join our team at Company 3/Method Studios. As a key member of our post-production team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our colourists and editors, ensuring the smooth completion of episodic and feature projects from ingest to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Colour Support: Assist colourists in performing efficiently and productively during sessions, including colour tracing, vfx inserts, lut application, and other tasks.
  • Support Editors: Help finishing editors perform efficiently and productively during and before sessions, including locating and consolidating media, renders, and QC fixes.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate and communicate with colleagues to obtain job instructions and solutions to meet project deadlines, document workflows, and train new hires.
  • Resource Support: Operate DaVinci Resolve or similar applications, Sony X300, Barco 4K/2K, and video routers.
  • Quality Assurance: Detail-oriented with application and equipment settings, thoroughly check all work for errors before content is distributed downstream.
  • New Technology Support: Help support new processes and maintain proficiency with evolving technical applications and trends with the company workflow.
  • Quality Control: Maintain outstanding levels of oversight of deliverables manufactured within the finishing process.
  • Customer Service: Drive client-supervised sessions, screenings, visual effects reviews, and colour-correction sessions/editorial reviews as directed by colourist/editor and/or production management.
Requirements
  • Prior working experience in the media/post-production industry.
  • Prior hands-on operator experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • An exceptional eye for detail, with strong problem-solving skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, and a great team player.
  • A professional level of English language skill, i.e. written and verbal.
  • Solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Other system knowledge is a plus: Adobe Premiere, OSD/Transkoder, and Avid.
  • Ability to work overtime with little or no notice.
  • Ability to work on weekends, as necessary.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, as necessary.
