Fortis Inc. (FTS/NYSE: FTS) has an exciting opportunity to join its team in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador as the Manager, Information Technology.

We are inviting applications from Information Technology professionals who can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace. Reporting to the Director, Information Systems and Security, the successful candidate will be an integral member of the Information Systems team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage infrastructure, systems, applications and information security requirements;
  • Coordinate the work of a team of IT professionals providing technical guidance and supporting their development;
  • Ensure the security, integrity and availability of technology systems and data;
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify technology needs and develop solutions to improve efficiency and productivity and help develop the company's technology roadmap;
  • Remain current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive organizational innovation;
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate hardware, software licensing, and service contracts;
  • Manage compliance with internal technical controls in a Sarbanes-Oxley regulated IT environment; and
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of information security principles and best practices in areas such as network design, cyber security, and business information systems;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to all levels of stakeholders across the organization;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze complex issues and develop practical solutions;
  • Previous project management experience to effectively plan, execute and monitor IT projects; and
  • People leadership and collaboration skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Studies or Business with a concentration in Information Technology; and
  • A minimum of five (5) years of Information Technology work experience managing or supervising IT professionals.
