MES Engineer

The MES position will work closely with stakeholders to understand the processes and requirements of manufacturing operations and associated systems. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing production efficiency and maintaining high standards of product quality.


Key Responsibilities in MES Engineering:

  • Responsible for the implementation, operation, standardization and maintenance of the MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) in a mission critical 24x7 production environment.
  • Perform MES business and customer requirements analysis and specifications, system design, application software configuration, development, integration, testing, implementation, start-up, and support
  • Perform, and provide guidance for, system integrations, gap analysis and application design, architecture development and support for generic and complex MES solutions
  • Design and provide MES solutions in support of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and integration to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Quality Systems
  • Provide detailed and complex root-cause analysis support and maintenance to systems hardware and software as required
  • Define the methodology, standards, and best practices to implement MES system across multiple sites and operations

The Skills you Bring:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Manufacturing / Engineering or Equivalent
  • 3-4 years of experience in IT/ Manufacturing environments
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing execution system (MES) design, development, and implementation
  • 3+ years of experience supporting MES solutions
  • Proficiencies in MS SQL, .NET, PMP, SCRUM, Etc.
  • Domain experience / certifications with MES (manufacturing execution systems) MOM (manufacturing operations management), SCADA, and MRP/ERP related systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • An additional asset would be other specialty software/systems technology knowledge and direct solution development capabilities with Allen Bradley, Omron, Kepware, Insequence, Factory Talk, Forcam, as well as system integration to ERP platforms including SAP and Infor.
