**Job Summary:**
- Utilize accepted nursing assessment procedures and techniques to aid in the understanding, treatment, and management of clients in mental health and addictions services.
- Consult with psychiatrists and other team members to ensure optimum assessment and treatment for clients.
- Provide education and support to clients and families about mental illnesses, addictions, and medications.
- Liaise with school systems and government agencies to maintain youth in school and provide access to vocational placement, funding, and home assessments.
**Responsibilities:**
- Function as a client advocate and provide care that reflects acceptance of client/family beliefs, culture, religious, and socioeconomic background.
- Provide families with support and direction in times of crisis.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
**Requirements:**
- Minimum of one year recognized experience in a community or acute mental health setting working with children and youth.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent.
- Workplace Assessment and Violence Education certificate (WAVE) or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) or equivalent.
**Competencies:**
- Advanced organizational skills.
- Advanced interpersonal skills.
- Advanced communication skills.
**Knowledge and Abilities:**
- Ability to be flexible and willing to change.
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work independently.
**Other Information:**
- Registered/eligible with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of SK.
- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).
