Job Title: Morning Kitchen Assistant

Join our team at Mon Pitou Bistro & Bakery in Vancouver as a Morning Kitchen Assistant. This is a dynamic role that involves baking, packaging, dishwashing, and overall kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, bake, and cook menu items as directed
  • Proof and execute morning bake for fresh pastries
  • Assemble sandwiches for daily sales
  • Set up station before or after service
  • Assist with catering orders
  • Prepare meals and meal kits (vacuum seal, labeling, packaging)
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Prepare products for the retail program
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and properly
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
  • Assist with dish washing
  • Deep clean of kitchen area to maintain a hygienic work environment
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Commit to a 6 am start when needed
  • Flexible start/end time is an asset
  • Commit to 5 days/week
  • FoodSafe level 1 certification
  • Line Cook experience is an asset
  • 1 year Pastry and baking experience is an asset
  • 2 years of Prep cook experience
  • Familiar with kitchen equipment usage
  • Attentive to detail and quality while multitasking
  • Reliable, punctual, and independent
  • Collaborative, dependable, and self-motivated
  • Holds a work permit in Canada
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
