Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager I to join our Cancer Redevelopment Team Provincial at BC Cancer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of current projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery of project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution: Establish detailed project charters, plans, and objectives to outline timelines and project deliverables. Execute project plans according to project methodologies, ensuring successful and coordinated completion of project components.
  • Project Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress according to project plans and identified metrics. Monitor and report on the status of projects and major barriers encountered, making recommendations to the Director regarding project scope and related changes.
  • Project Budgeting and Risk Management: Participate in the development and monitoring of project budgets within the context of operations demands and environmental and resource constraints. Implement or contribute to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies, and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Provide leadership by giving advice or guidance in situations that require interpretation and judgment. Collaborate with stakeholders, project staff, contractors, and other teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A Master's Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or a relevant healthcare discipline, with a minimum of five years of recent, related experience in project management and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment, including the ability to communicate with the physician community. Computer literacy with word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, and database applications. Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action, In Plain Sight Report, BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act, and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
