About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer to join our team at Aecon, a Canadian leader in infrastructure development. As a Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our projects, working closely with our project management team and sub-trades to ensure compliance with design drawings, engineering standards, codes, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet daily with project crews to review production schedules and confirm materials, equipment, and resources are available for production to continue on schedule and within budget.
  • Collect, coordinate, and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
  • Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling, identifying risk elements of production, materials, equipment, or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
  • Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance, documenting daily activities in Company-approved methods and technologies.
  • Notify team members and manager of significant schedule changes and recommend solutions for management consideration.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary school education in Civil Engineering or Construction Management disciplines, or an acceptable combination of education and previous experience.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as a Field Engineer or Project Coordinator, ideally in project engineering or heavy civil construction environments.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawing and specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to the project.
  • Proficiency in software related to the construction industry, such as Primavera Scheduling software, AutoCAD, and SAP.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Flexibility to work in both field and office environments.
