About the Role:

Casino Niagara is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, portioning, quality, and presentation, ensuring strict adherence to health codes and established company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee food preparation, portioning, quality, and presentation to ensure high-quality dishes are served to our guests.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the culinary team through continuous coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Assist the Chef in his absence and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Develop and cost menus to create an exceptional customer experience.
  • Implement all plans and strategies identified as required.
  • Perform ad-hoc food testing for quality assurance.
  • Work under stressful conditions during various levels of business.
  • Work safely, and in compliance with OH&S policies and legislation.
  • Have thorough knowledge of all activities and promotions occurring at our casino properties.
  • Be flexible to support a 24/7 operation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Food & Beverage.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a Fine Dining Kitchen.
  • Proven experience in a high-volume kitchen environment, including food preparation and large-volume food production.
  • Certification of Qualification - Inter Provincial Red Seal.
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, and team-building skills.
  • Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient mathematical and computer skills.
