Join OCWA as a water/wastewater professional and contribute to building healthy, sustainable communities and organizations, providing safe and reliable drinking water to thousands of Ontarians each day.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain water and wastewater facilities within the Midwest Region.
  • Use skills to inspect, operate, and monitor facilities processes and equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, take samples, interpret results, and make process control adjustments to resolve operating issues.
Requirements:
  • OIT to Class IV certificate or license: Water Treatment, Water Distribution and Supply, Wastewater Treatment/Collection, Limited Surface Water, and Limited Groundwater.
  • A minimum Operator-in-Training (OIT) certificate.
  • Valid class G driver's license.
  • Ability to respond to on-call within a reasonable period of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Good knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes.
  • Working experience/knowledge of the skilled trades for maintenance and repair of equipment and structures.
  • Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant regulatory and legislative acts.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and chemistry.
