About the Opportunity

The Physiotherapy Resident plays a vital role in our healthcare team, assessing and treating patients with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities. This position requires a strong understanding of physiotherapy principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing holistic treatment programs using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques to assist patients in regaining and/or maintaining optimal function. This position also involves collaborating with other healthcare disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers to promote health and well-being.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Physiotherapy Resident who possesses a Bachelor's degree or entry-level master's program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university. Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists is also required. Computer skills, including statistics input, word processing, and Outlook, are essential. Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification and WHMIS training and certification are also necessary. Additional courses or education in specialized areas or practices, such as cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc., are an asset. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are also an asset.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position with a 100% FTE, 75 hours biweekly. Shifts include days and some weekends, with travel to various sites required. The hourly rate is $33.97. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
